Myths vs. Facts on Immigration

Arkansas Watch just posted a response to a White House article defending illegal immigration.

The White House posted an article on line entitled Myth/Fact: Ten Key Myths About the Border Security and Immigration Reform Agreement at this link. The Heritage Foundation countered that article with Facts that bust the White House points at this link. A Rasmussen poll shows tht only "26% of American voters favor passage of the legislation. See this link.Following are some of the facts vs the myths.

1. MYTH: This is not amnesty. FACT: The bill takes an approach similar to that of the 1986 immigration law. President Reagan backed that law... and called it amnesty. So does Black's Law Dictionary, which says, 'the 1986 Immigration Reform and Control Act provided amnesty for undocumented aliens already in the country.'"
