Investigators Suspect Larger Organization Involved In ID Case
By
Anna FryTHE MORNING NEWS

Benton County Sheriff's investigators believe three men arrested last weekend in connection with fraudulent identification documents coordinated with a larger organization that brings illegal immigrants to the country, they said. Deputies began spotting business cards about two months ago with only a first name, phone number and a guarantee for fast service in Spanish when they made traffic stops, said Corey Coggin, a deputy with the Crime Suppression Unit. They found the Bethel Heights address on IDs and other documents during three traffic stops, Coggin said. Coggin and another deputy went to a home at 3392 Garrett Lane on Saturday. The man answering the door, Fidel Reyes-Morales, 43, gave them permission to search. Once the deputies found a laptop and printer, Reyes-Morales ran from the house, Coggin said. The deputies chased him for a half mile before catching him. When they returned to the house, two other men had arrived. The deputies arrested Emiliano Reynosa-Hilario, 30, and Yobani Jimenez-Estrada, 26. Investigators confiscated a printer, a scanner, a laptop, ledgers detailing supply inventories, holographic blank cards and faulty fake identification cards. They found bank records showing money was sent back to Mexico and numerous phone cards showing the men called Mexico frequently, Coggin said.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement is investigating a larger related organization, Coggin said. Temple Black, a public information officer, said Immigration and Customs Enforcement wasn't involved in the weekend arrests and the agency won't comment on possible ongoing investigations. The men made between $4,000 and $10,000 every two weeks, their handwritten records show. The men operated from 2560 Mia Place Apt. B in Springdale until they got evicted, Coggin said. They moved into a new brick home in a Bethel Heights neighborhood a few months ago, he said. Investigators believe two or three other men were involved and are trying to track them down. Too much money is involved for the other men not to re-establish themselves in the area, Sgt. Brandon Rogers said. The three men were still in jail Wednesday. Reynosa-Hilario is being held on a $50,000 bond on suspicion of felony possession of a forgery device and misdemeanor possessing instruments of crime. Reyes-Morales is also being held on a $50,000 bond on suspicion of misdemeanor fleeing and felony possession of a forgery device. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has holds on all three men. Investigators don't have proof that Jimenez-Estrada lived at the residence, but he gave them a fake name, Coggin said. He is held on a $5,000 bond on suspicion of misdemeanor obstructing governmental operations and possessing instruments of crime. The names police are using are among several aliases each man has and officials don't know their real names, Coggin said. The men are scheduled for arraignment Jan. 20, Benton County Prosecutor Van Stone said. He expects to file charges before then.

A good start for Arkansas

Rep. Bill Sample, R-Hot Springs, has finished the first draft of an immigration bill he hopes to introduce in the next legislative session. Talk of the bill started to swirl in early November after Catholic Bishop Anthony Taylor of Little Rock issued a pastoral letter saying the human rights of immigrants should be considered a social justice issue. Sample won't reveal details yet, but said it would cover state services, higher education and employment.“Right now we are offering services to illegal aliens that we're not making available to our own citizens,” Sample says. “And with the budget cuts that we've had to make in the state, we just can't provide for people who are here illegally.” Independent studies have shown, however, that the immigrant workforce contributes far more to the state's economy than it costs. Sample says he hopes to file the bill sometime before Christmas. Sample argues that providing services to illegal immigrants is insulting to those who “abide by the law and go through the naturalization process.”

Naturally, the leftist AR Times was able to get the pro-illegal alien POV-

Bishop Taylor says that to the extent that states act on immigration, policy should be based on justice (for US citizens and legal immigrants) and respect for human rights (illegally entering the US is not a human right). “We should do something positive (like ending illegal immigration) to build up our society rather than something negative to divide people (such as an amnesty for lawbreakers),” Taylor says. “One thing the state can do, or should do, is to set in motion programs to assist immigrants in assimilating to life in the United States (we already have an overburdened legal immigration system), including improved opportunities to learn English (English as offical language?) and other assistance to help people adapt to life here.” (more taxpayer funds to illegals)

What we need to prevent in Arkansas:
The war on our southern border falls off political radar
BY DAVID DANELO IN THE LOS ANGELES TIMES

On Nov. 3, the day before Americans elected Barack Obama president, drug cartel henchmen murdered 58 people in Mexico. It was the highest number killed in one day since President Felipe Calderon took office in December 2006. By comparison, on average 26 people-Americans and Iraqis combined-died daily in Iraq in 2008. Mexico's casualty list on Nov. 3 included a man beheaded in Ciudad Juarez whose bloody corpse was suspended along an overpass for hours. No one had the courage to remove the body until dark. The death toll from terrorist attacks in Mumbai two weeks ago, although horrible, approaches the average weekly body count in Mexico's war. Three weeks ago in Juarez, which is just across the Rio Grande from El Paso, Texas, telephone messages and banners threatened teachers that if they failed to pay protection money to cartels, their students would suffer brutal consequences. Local authorities responded by assigning 350 teenage police cadets to the city's 900 schools. If organized criminals wish to extract tribute from teachers, businessmen, tourists or anyone else, there is nothing the Mexican government can do to stop them. For its part, the United States has become numb to this norm.

University Chancellor allows crime to pay

I missed this story when it happened so I'm posting it now:

University of Arkansas at Fayetteville Chancellor G. David Gearhart has decided to allow 19 illegal aliens who illegally enrolled into the University, and paid in-state tuition, to continue receiving an education from the university. U of A was among several Arkansas campuses that did not require prospective students to provide Social Security numbers and that didn’t ask if they were legal residents of the United States, either for purposes of admission or eligibility for in-state tuition. This means there could be hundreds of illegal aliens that have been educated at the expense of the Arkansas taxpayer instead of US citizens or legal immigrants. The 19 illegals at U of A got away with paying about $8,900 less annually for tuition than US citizens from out of state until now. They are at least now being partially paid for by donors who hopefully will also pay for any welfare benefits, housing, child support, and other taxpayer funded expenses. We do not yet know if the U of A or these private donors will pay for liability in case one these illegal alien students turns out to be a terrorist. We know what happened on 9/11 when some students with legal visas became illegal.
There is no word yet on what company will hire the illegal alien students.

Chancellor Gearhart's actions speak louder than his words. He is condoning illegal immigration and is setting a dangerous precedent. If you are a student at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. You may be able to commit Identity Fraud if your parents are criminals and you are a minority! Apparently you are able to get away with not paying/stealing several thousand dollars a year!

Another great letter about Bishop Taylor's Pro-illegal immigration Agenda:
www.nwaonline.net/articles/2008/11/13/letters/

Catholic Bishop Assumes Too Much
Once again, the Catholic Church, in the guise of Bishop Anthony B. Taylor, has given only half the picture of immigrants and a very blurred one at that. In your paper on page 7A on Nov. 7, the bishop stated what has become a paradigm in the Catholic Church concerning immigrants to wealthier countries from poorer ones and that is wealthier countries must provide the remedy to the inequality of wealth that drives poor to rich. What! Is this a redistribution of wealth disguised as immigration policy? He states, “...the human rights of undocumented (illegal) immigrants (aliens)” must and can be solved by “what Jesus Christ and our Christian faith has to say.” I cannot find any specific passage in the Bible referring to illegal immigrants or their “God-given rights” to be here. What God-given rights? You are here illegally. You have broken the law.Is it not of the Christian faith that God demands you obey the government He has instituted? Bishop Taylor believes in a one-world church based upon the Catholic precepts of Christianity based upon the following statement in your interview, “no dividing lines within our parishes, no second class citizens.” In effect no restrictions to the Catholic Church based upon national rights and laws. He then quotes Matthew as to helping the poor. I agree. But, breaking the law is a crime to all legal citizens; is it not a crime thus to all those who enter here illegally? Can you decide to obey one law and break the other? I think not. As Jesus told the disciples, “render unto Ceasar that which is Ceasar’s” this is not simply a matter of coinage but a matter of law and civil obedience thereto. Therefore, go back from whence you came and re-enter this country legally. Otherwise to myself and millions of law-abiding American citizens you are simply a criminal.

Christian Doctrine on Illegal Immigration

Christian Doctrine on Illegal Immigration (response to pro-illegal Arkansas Pastoral Letter)

On November 5th of this year, Bishop Anthony B. Taylor of Little Rock introduced a pastoral letter titled “I Was a Stranger and You Welcomed Me…” to the Catholic Church and to the public. In a public statement announcing the letter, Bishop Anthony B. Taylor claims that “being able to immigrate to another country is an intrinsic human right”. Bishop Taylor also states that “We do support them being here illegally. They have a right to be here.” The Pastoral Letter is designed to indoctrinate Christians into supporting illegal immigration. KeepArkansasLegal believes that churches of all dominations can help any person’s immediate needs if it so chooses. But churches should not advocate breaking or eliminating laws that protect this nation. Nor should churches provide sanctuary to criminals. The link provided is to the letter “Christian Doctrine on Illegal Immigration.” This letter based on Biblical teaching, statistics, and facts about immigration. It is to be distributed to all churches and Christians in Arkansas.

Dozens of immigrant advocates from across the country convened in Washington today to call on President-elect Barack Obama to halt immigration raids, fulfill campaign pledges to revamp the nation's immigration system and offer the nation's estimated 12 million illegal immigrants a path to citizenship within his first year in office. The coalition, which includes activists from Los Angeles, New York and the Washington area, also announced plans to mobilize tens of thousands of immigrants and their supporters for a demonstration on the Mall on Jan. 21, the day after Obama's inauguration. more here...

For Immediate Release

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Kenny J. Wallis
President of KeepArkansasLegal
Little Rock, Arkansas
501-412-4063

Little Rock, AR – November 7, 2008 –KeepArkansasLegal is concerned about a Bishop who believes that the US taxpayer is responsible for the citizens of every country and that poverty is a license to commit crime.

In a public statement announcing the letter “I was a stranger and You Welcomed Me: A Pastoral Letter on the Human Rights of Immigrants”, Bishop Anthony B. Taylor claims that “being able to immigrate to another country is an intrinsic human right”. Bishop Taylor also states that “We do support them being here illegally. They have a right to be here.” The Pastoral Letter is designed to indoctrinate Christians into supporting illegal immigration.

The first problem with Bishop Taylor’s statement is that he seems to show no compassion for Hispanics when they live in their corrupt native countries. Deuteronomy 16:19: “Do not pervert justice or show partiality. Do not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and twists the words of the righteous.” The Mexican Government is well known for its corruption and negligence toward its people. When Mexico ignored hundreds of murders in Juarez, we heard virtually nothing from those that claim to care about Hispanics. Nor do we hear any demand that the Mexico pay for housing, healthcare, education, and other necessities that the Mexican government is supposed to provide Mexicans. That burden has been put upon the American taxpayer thanks to people like Bishop Taylor. One can only imagine if we told US citizens that the only right they had was to immigrate to Canada! Bishop Taylor could also put pressure on corrupt businesses such as Tyson Foods to stop hiring illegals and breaking US law, instead he’s helping corrupt businesses by helping the trafficking of illegals. Helping illegal immigration also helps the human/drug trafficking business, which enslaves and abuses the neglected citizens of other countries. It is not Christian to be a useful idiot of evil.

Then there’s the argument that the Bible’s command to help the poor means aiding illegal immigration. Hillary Clinton justified illegal immigration by citing the story of The Good Samaritan. Bishop Taylor’s letter also cites Bible Verses that concern the poor. In none of these verses is a command for government to raise taxes to help the poor. The Bible’s statements to help the poor are directed to individuals to give of themselves, not tax others. In Luke 10:35, The Good Samaritan used his own money, not the money of someone else. Furthermore, there are many who help the poor for their own gain.

…Continued on page 2
When Jesus was anointed in John 12:3-8 One of his disciples stated,” Why wasn't this perfume sold and the money given to the poor? It was worth a year's wages. He did not say this because he cared about the poor but because he was a thief; as keeper of the money bag, he used to help himself to what was put into it. Many in the illegal immigration agenda claim to help the poor so that they can advance the ideas of multiculturalism, “Aztlan” (the racist Hispanic succession of the Southwest from the United States), socialist equality, and similar agendas. To criticize their agenda is portrayed as being “mean” to those in poverty. There are also those who think that it’s OK to break the law if you are “helping the poor”. Peter 4:15-16, states “If you suffer, it should not be as a murderer or thief or any other kind of criminal, or even as a meddler. 16However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name.

Bishop Taylor’s belief that anyone has a divine right to go and live wherever they want has no Biblical bases. What if the 15-20 million illegal aliens in the US decided they had a divine right to live in Vatican City? In every instance of immigration in the Bible, the Jewish people were told directly by God Himself. Groups like La Raza claim that Aztlan, the Southwest US, is the Promised Land for Hispanics. Does Bishop Taylor believe in the idea of Aztlan?

KeepArkansasLegal believes that churches of all dominations can help any person’s immediate needs if it so chooses. But churches should not advocate breaking or eliminating laws that protect this nation. Nor should churches provide sanctuary to criminals. If an illegal alien can be justified in their crimes because they are poor, minorities with children, then so can a car thief, shoplifter, bank robber etc. It is our belief that The Church should advocate for ending illegal immigration in the US by attrition and enforcement and that demand the reform of 3rd world countries.

Election results and an upcoming Holy War

This is probably the best analysis of how the election will affect illegal immigration:

Friends of ALIPAC, We would like to thank all of you who contributed and worked so hard on this year's elections. Together, we endorsed more candidates than ever before and were able to reach more people than ever before with our recommendations. We also set a new organizational record for the amount of money we spent and the support we could offer candidates who stand with you against amnesty and for more immigration enforcement. For Democrats, Obama won and the party picked up some new seats in the US Senate and House. Obama promised a path to citizenship for illegal aliens just like McCain and the strong dissatisfaction with the Bush administration was stronger and more dominant than it was in 2006. The good news for our side is that many Democrats ran to the right of their Republican opposition to win. We saw more Democrats touting how they would be tough on immigration enforcement than ever before. How many of them mean it is anyone's guess, but we will soon launch an operation to bring more Democrat members of Congress to our side.

A Pro-Illegal Immigration Bishop will attempt to indoctrinate Christians for 2009.

Bishop Taylor's first pastoral letter teaches on rights of immigrants
Three-week Advent study to be held in all parishes in diocese
Published: November 8, 2008
By Malea Hargett Editor

Five months after being ordained the bishop of Little Rock, Bishop Anthony B. Taylor is issuing his first pastoral letter in hopes of teaching his flock about the human rights of undocumented immigrants."I Was a Stranger and You Welcomed Me: A Pastoral Letter on the Human Rights of Immigrants" was introduced to the priests of the state Nov. 5 during a study day. On Nov. 7, diocesan employees gathered at St. John Center for a similar event. Bishop Taylor said he believes the human rights of immigrants is a topic that many Catholics are not informed about properly. "I hope that people will open their hearts to the call of Jesus in our time," he said in an interview with Arkansas Catholic. "There is lots of information people don't have at their disposal that is really relevant to this topic. More than that, I hope it goes down from their head to their heart and see what the Lord is asking of us. ... It is the biggest area where the teaching of the Church is not well-known."

Bishop Taylor, who is fluent in Spanish and has worked in Hispanic ministry for 28 years, said he believes being able to immigrate to another country is an "intrinsic human right." "They do have a right to immigrate when circumstances require," he said. He agrees illegal immigration is bad because it is nearly impossible for immigrants, predominantly from Mexico, to come to the United States legally. "We do support them being here illegally. They have a right to be here," he said. "We are here to serve everybody. Not just Catholics. We are not a country club. We are here to bring the love of Jesus to everybody. They are here because there is no way to get documents, not because they don't want documents. They do not want to immigrate without documents. ... You can't be obliged to do what you can't do. Immigration laws should correspond to the reality." The 30-page document includes five appendices with additional resources, information on what the U.S. bishops' conference has said and supporting Scripture references. The bishop consulted with several priests and laypeople over the past three months when writing the letter. Booklets of the letter will be made available in all parishes and missions in English and Spanish. In order to get parishioners to read and discuss the letter, Bishop Taylor asked Cackie Upchurch, director of Little Rock Scripture Study, to write a three-week Advent study guide for small group sharing. "The purpose of the pastoral letter is not to just go on record but rather to teach," he said. "People learn not just by reading a document but also by dialoguing and sharing with others, especially if the concepts are new and are hard to get your mind around." The pastoral letter will be distributed to parishioners on the feast of Christ the King Nov. 23. At the Masses, parishes are also asked to play a recorded homily by Bishop Taylor. The study sessions are expected to be held in churches through Dec. 20. The season before Christmas was chosen because "Advent is a time of longing and expectation, a time of hope," Bishop Taylor wrote in his letter introducing the pastoral letter. "What changes do we need to make here in Arkansas in order to ensure that today's Marys and Josephs -- today's Marías and Josés -- receive a warm welcome truly worthy of the Savior whose birth we celebrate on Christmas?"

Bishop Taylor said immigration is a likely topic of several bills in the General Assembly at the State Capitol in January, and he hopes laypeople will be educated about the topic before the legislators meet. "I hope there will be a change in American law that provides for the protection of the human rights of everyone in this country and that immigration reform is in the interest of the common good." In the pastoral letter Bishop Taylor has not suggested specific changes in the law he would like to see. "My role is that of teaching faith and morals," he said. "It is for the laypeople to come up with ways to implement that." Copies of the pastoral letter will be sent to the state's representatives and senators. "Hopefully they'll learn from the mistakes made in Oklahoma," he said. "Even economics, you have to learn from that. If you think the economy is in trouble now, do we need more disruption in our economy now?" Oklahoma legislators passed House Bill 1804, and it went into effect Nov. 1, 2007. The law, believed to be the toughest illegal immigration law in the country, makes it a felony to transport or shelter undocumented workers and requires employers to verify all of their employees are here legally. Many employees moved to Texas and Arkansas after the law started being enforced, thus hurting the agriculture and service industries. While serving as a pastor in Oklahoma until his ordination June 5, Bishop Taylor said, "It is so sad to see the way people's spirits get crushed by oppressive things that happen to them, by mistreatment in the workplace," he said, "where people are powerless and they were doing everything right." Bishop Taylor acknowledges that immigration, particularly illegal immigration, draws out "a lot of strong feelings" among Arkansans. "It is not a topic that I am uncomfortable with because the teaching of the Church is so clear," he said. "I am anticipating getting feedback of all sorts. I am especially anticipating feedback from persons whose eyes have been open to something that they haven't given much thought to and to the conversion experience that that stimulates." The complete pastoral letter is available to download in English and Spanish at http://www.dolr.org/.

My first thought when I saw this was why wait until after one of the most important elections in history to write a pastoral letter? Bishop Taylor appears to have the attitude that poverty is a license for crime. Also, Bishop Taylor makes no effort in demading an end to the government corruption that causes the illegal immigration. A more detailed rebuttal will be sent soon.

Secure Arkansas' Chair, Jeannie Burlsworth, noted, "I am greatly concerned that our elections are being swayed by illegal aliens who are in our state trying to vote illegally."
Secure Arkansas calls on Arkansas' Election Officials to immediately ensure that the Matricular card is not accepted as identification for first-time voters.

Federal investigators said Juan Carrillo, an illegal alien living in Gentry, was the head of a multistate methamphetamine ring busted last month after a three-year investigation. Drug Enforcement Administration agents gathered evidence against Carrillo and his associates using six confidential informants, recorded telephone conversations and officers from 17 federal, state and local lawenforcement agencies. Using these tools, agents were able to piece together Carrillo’s operation and to undermine it by intercepting large methamphetamine shipments coming into Northwest Arkansas, an affidavit filed in the case shows. The U. S. attorney’s office declined to comment on the case Friday. However, the affidavit, filed in support of a search warrant sought by investigators, lays out the government’s case. The investigation culminated on Sept. 21 when Carrillo was arrested after officers caught him switching vehicles with an apparent courier who had just brought 5. 5 pounds of methamphetamine from California hidden inside the car’s dashboard, the affidavit shows. More breaks for illegal aliens

In a time of economic chaos (thanks to giving illegals home loans) this Chancellor has decided not only allow illegals on campus, but to give them a discount that is not even given to US citizens of other states! Will these illegal alien students get scholarship money from the lottery if passed? If you or somebody you know has information about illegal aliens attending U of A Fayettville or any other college, let us know.

Gearhart Makes Push For Bachelor's Degrees
By Jon Gambrell The Morning News AP
http://www.nwaonline.net/articles/2008/10/22/news/102308argearhart.prt

LITTLE ROCK -- The state must do everything it can to encourage more students to seek bachelor's degrees, including possibly offering illegal immigrants the lower tuition rates given to residents, University of Arkansas Chancellor Dave Gearhart said Wednesday. Gearhart stopped just short of endorsing a possible legislative proposal that would give in-state tuition rates to illegal immigrants. Most higher education officials want to be "frankly forgiving if we can" when it comes to students living illegally in the state, he said."I don't think it would be appropriate for me to argue against any qualified student getting a four-year degree at our institution simply because of their parents," Gearhart told The Associated Press on Wednesday. "To me, it's not really the student's fault that they came here and their parents had an issue with immigration. To me, that's penalizing the student."In recent years, both the University of Arkansas and the University of Central Arkansas in Conway had offered students in-state tuition rates even if they didn't list a Social Security number in their applications. In May, the head of the state's Department of Higher Education issued an order requiring schools to ensure students receiving in-state tuition were legal residents.

In the time since, Gearhart said the university has identified about 25 students who may be illegal immigrants. Officials at the school worked to find private donations to cover the difference between in-state and out-of-state tuition -- about a $4,500 difference per semester per student, Gearhart said.Gearhart described his decision also as one of necessity in a state that ranks 50th in the nation in the number of residents with bachelor's degrees."Our position is that we're in the business of education," Gearhart said. "We know that by helping a student, any student, get a four-year degree is going to help the economy, it's going to help the state."Former state Rep. Joyce Elliott, a Democrat who faces no opposition in the November election for a state Senate seat from Little Rock, has said she likely will offer a bill next session to offer in-state tuition rates for illegal immigrants. While Gearhart said he has talked with Elliott about the idea, he repeatedly declined Wednesday to give explicit support for her possible bill."I'd like to see the legislation before I completely sign on, but I'm certainly in favor of helping students get a college degree," Gearhart said.

Elliott said changing the law would help other students, not just illegal immigrants.
"I don't think anyone is against students having the opportunity," Elliott said. "It's just that we're having to try to find a way to work within the laws."Illegal immigration is a politically sensitive topic in Arkansas, home to one of the nation's fastest growing Hispanic communities. More than 150,000 Hispanics now live in the state, many drawn by construction work and jobs in poultry plants. Recent reports suggest half of the state's immigrant population lives in the U.S. illegally.
Gov. Mike Beebe, who has repeatedly said that "illegal means illegal," opposes offering in-state tuition to illegal immigrants. As attorney general, Beebe issued a 2005 opinion that said offering the benefit likely would violate the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment.Gearhart said he's spoken with Beebe's office and hasn't heard "anyone who wants to penalize students." Matt DeCample, a spokesman for Beebe, said Gearhart had not met with anyone in the governor's office about the in-state tuition ban. DeCample said Beebe held by his stance."From our end, it's a legal issue far more than a philosophical issue," he said. During the interview, Gearhart also declined to say whether he'd support a measure on the November ballot to create a statewide lottery. The lottery, which would go toward a fund for college scholarships, already received the backing of former Chancellor John White.

Thanks to the sabotage of Attorney General Dustin McDaniel, we were unable to put the Secure Arkansas Petition on the Nov. 4th. There are however some important elections coming up, many of which have to do with illegal immigration. Phil Wyrick is running for Pulaski County Judge. He talked about a doctor who saw a Rosa Garcia at least 5 times in 1 week. Each Rosa Garcia was a different person! Wyrick was very familiar with the issue of illegal immigration and would be a great judge for Pulaski County. There is supposed to be a debate for Pulaski County Judge on the Dave Elswick Show 103108. In State Rep District 43, Candidate Steve Meckfessel has stated that he will fight to reduce illegal immigration in Arkansas. In North Little Rock, Ward 3, Bruce Foutch stated that he opposed illegal immigration and was familiar with the Dave Elswick show. I have will have some more research later on. Here's some more about election issues:

• REFERRED QUESTION 1: It would provide state backing for $300 million in bonds for water and other projects. I got a letter from a conservative activist about this issue:

Attention all farmers, ranchers & land owners,Just learned that the first legislation on the Nov. ballot pertaining to awarding several billion dollars towards parks, campgrounds, etc, also allows control of private water sources such as ponds. Be aware & VOTE NO!

Please spread the word -- early voting started today! Blessings,Loretta Weston

In Texas, the issue of water usage has become a big debate with illegal immigration causing a strain on the water system! Will we have to pay higher utilities for water to be directed to illegal aliens? With this government, who can say?

.• CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT 1: A measure to strip language from the Constitution and provide more flexibility in the appointment of members to county election commissions. We actually need more scrutiny for the people who will be in charge of stopping ACORN and their illegal alien voters.

• CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT 2: It provides for annual sessions of the legislature, including a financial session in even-numbered years. This means more time that we will have to spend watching them. It's more likely that this will produce more pro-illegal immigration legislation.

• CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT 3 Lottery Lobbyist and Lt. Governor Bill Halter's plan to fund college scholarships by having a state lottery. Although the Amendment says "to fund scholarships and grants for Arkansas Citizens", we know that some universities will violate Federal Law in allowing illegal aliens to attend. Plus, if Joyce Ellliot and others have their way, we will be giving in-state tuition to illegal alien college students in addition to whatever lottery money is given to them. As long as illegal aliens are in our school system, we can't trust the leftist education system to "spread the wealth around".

Proposed Act 1; Person who is cohabiting outside of marriage may not adopt or be a foster parent of a child less than 18 years old. Not aware of illegals adopting kids. This is supported by Christian Conservatives, most of whom oppose illegal immigration. Those who oppose Proposed Act 1 include the leftist Arkansas Times and the Arkansas ACLU. That's reason enough to vote for it!

List of problems grows
I do not understand why many Arkansans go to church on Sunday but will vote Democrat even if the presidential and vice-presidential candidates are both pro-choice. The speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, recently tried to muddy the political water by [suggesting ] that the Catholic Church was vague on the issue of abortion. What ? Yet many Arkansans will say," Well, my parents and grandparents have always voted Democratic."When have Americans voted for party over philosophy ? I guess some Arkansans are just two-faced ? Furthermore, the Democratic Party is very slow to act on the energy issue.
Is it wrong for us to want lower gas prices while we look far into the future for alternative fuels ? What about an increase in taxes ? How will that affect us or the U. S. economy ? What about the Russia-vs.-Georgia surprise or the Israel-vs.-Iran crisis ? Who is watching the security of our nation ? We have not even solved the Social Security mess or the immigration debacle. I am very confused about Americans, Arkansans and U. S. politicians. We just keep adding to this list without solving any problems. It is time for us to solve problems, not add more items to that list. DANIEL PYNE / Cabot

Trick or Treat from Illegal Immigrants

Fort Smith - Federal prosecutors say 13 people have been indicted for allegedly taking part in a methamphetamine smuggling ring based out of northwest Arkansas. U.S. Attorney Bob Balfe says the indictments come as part of a joint investigation by federal, state and local police. Balfe says agents served four federal search warrants and seized about 15 pounds of methamphetamine. He says U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has identified six of the indicted as illegal immigrants. Balfe says those indicted in the ring include: -Jose M. Alvarado, 30, of Joplin, Mo.; -Saul Alvarez-Sifuentes, 31, of Lowell; -Adrian Avelar, 34, of Los Angeles; -Juan Carrillo, 45, of Gentry; -Lucia Carrillo, 44, of Gentry; -Adan Casarez, 33, of Monnett, Mo.; -Efrain Estrada-Gomez, 33, of Springdale; -Leonardo Gonzalez, 29, of Monett, Mo.; -Carlos Quiroz, 20, of Springdale; -Jaime Valencia del Monte, 29, of Moreno Valley, Calif; -Luis Yanez-Martinez, 30, of Springdale; -Victor Zepeda, 49, of Arkansas City, Kan.; -German Zepeda, 25, of Arkansas City, Kan.

Another version of the storyhttp://nwanews.com/adg/News/240403

FORT SMITH — Federal officials say 13 people in four states have been indicted on drug charges after a multiagency investigation of a methamphetamine distribution ring in Northwest Arkansas. Twelve of the 13 suspects, from Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas and California, were arraigned Tuesday before U. S. Magistrate James Marschewski in Fort Smith. The 13 th, Victor Zepeda, 49, of Arkansas City, Kan., was charged in the indictment but will be arraigned at a later date, according to assistant U. S. attorney Debbie Groom. No reason was given why Zepeda was not arraigned. The other 12 entered innocent pleas before Marschewski, she said. Of the 12, 10 had attorneys appointed for them, while two had retained counsel. All were ordered detained pending their trials, which are scheduled for Dec. 1, Groom said.

A news release from the U. S. attorney’s office Wednesday said six of the 13 suspects were determined to be illegal aliens and were being held by the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The news release did not specify which suspects were in the country illegally. Local, state and federal agencies conducted the long-term investigation, according to the news release. Authorities executed four search warrants in Northwest Arkansas and seized 15 pounds of methamphetamine during the investigation. The indictment also seeks the forfeiture of all currency and property constituting proceeds from the methamphetamine operation. Groom said the forfeiture would be pursued as part of the criminal case and the trial jury would determine what, if any, property or money would be forfeited. Officials revealed no further details of the investigation or the drug ring Wednesday.

Fake goods lead police to illegal alien at fair
BY JACOB QUINN SANDERS
Posted on Tuesday, October 14, 2008

At least a dozen people get arrested at the Arkansas State Fair and Livestock Show every year. Just not the way it happened to Bourkare Ouiya, 52, of Aurora, Colo. Little Rock police and U. S. customs and immigration officials found Ouiya selling counterfeit name-brand shoes and purses and discovered that he was from North Africa originally and was in the United States illegally. He remained in the Lonoke city jail, held by the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, on Monday. And while it is his immigration status that led to his arrest, it is the 179 pairs of fake Nike shoes and 210 purported designer purses — 102 from Coach, 48 from Chanel, 24 from Dolce & Gabbana, 20 from Louis Vuitton, 12 from Gucci, two from Kate Spade and one each from Fendi and Christian Dior — that have police and fair officials the most curious. “This is probably the first I’ve seen of a commercial vendor selling counterfeit items,” Ralph Shoptaw, the fair’s president and general manager since 2005, said Monday. “I just heard about this for the first time last night and I can tell you I was surprised.” Little Rock Police Department spokesman Lt. Terry Hastings said officers usually arrest as many as 25 or 30 people during the course of the State Fair. More here:http://nwanews.com/adg/News/240231/

I guess this illegal was selling the fake designer goods Americans won't sell. Once again we see that Many countries in North Africa have been havens for terrorist, such as Mohammed Atta who lived in Egypt. My question. If this man had committed a terrorist attack, who would be responsible? We can partially blame the crooked carnival company Degeller who "needed a guestworker" to sell their fake crap and couldn't afford a background check on Ouiya. For now, all we can really do to Deggeller is boycott and complain: http://www.deggeller.com/contact/contact.html

Our local politicans are another story. We have some bad incumbents like Pulaski County Judge Buddy Villines who's laziness and corruption has created a catch and release situation for illegal alien and US criminals. Then we have even worse incumbents such as Joyce Elliott state senator elect for District 33. Elliott has promised again to push for in-state tuition for illegal aliens in the AR legislature. Fortunately, we have candidates such as Steve Meckfessel, candidate for House District 43. Meckfessel has state that "As State Representative, I will work to ensure Arkansas does not become a safe haven state for illegal immigrants." This election we can throw out leaders that are pro-illegal immigration andelect people who will solve the problem. Now is the time to find out who you are voting for and where they stand. This is also the time to let us and everyone else know who to vote for/against!

More Reasons to fight illegal immigration

http://www.nwaonline.net/articles/

LITTLE ROCK -- An incoming state senator is asking higher education officials in the state to get behind a renewed push to approve in-state college tuition rates for undocumented students who graduate from Arkansas high schools. Some state university chancellors say they are supportive, though Gov. Mike Beebe maintains federal law prohibits what former state Rep. Joyce Elliott of Little Rock proposed in a failed 2005 bill that Elliott plans to resurrect when the 2009 legislative session begins in January. Robert Potts, chancellor of Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, said Tuesday that while he could not offer an opinion on behalf of the university, he personally agrees with Elliott on the issue.

HUD: Five Million Fraudulent Mortgages Held by Illegals KFYI ^ OCT 7 2008 KFYI
Posted on Tuesday, October 07, 2008 8:55:53 PM by HollyButler
One illegal alien was arrested this year in Tucson after allegedly using a stolen social security number to buy two homes and rack up over $780,000 in bad debt. Some five million fraudulent home mortgages are in the hands of illegal aliens, according to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. It's not known how many of those have contributed to the subprime housing mortgage meltdown, but it has affected every state, including Arizona.

The problem began years ago when banks were forced to give mortgages without confirming social security numbers or borrower identification. As a result, illegal immigrants were able to obtain home mortgages which they could not afford. One illegal alien was arrested this year in Tucson after allegedly using a stolen social security number to buy two homes and rack up over $780,000 in bad debt.

AP Feds: 300 suspected illegals held after SC raid Tuesday October 7, 11:14 am ET
Prosecutors say 300 suspected illegal immigrants detained after SC chicken plant raid
GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) -- Federal agents say they have detained more than 300 suspected illegal immigrants in a raid on a South Carolina chicken processing plant. Assistant U.S. Attorney Kevin McDonald says the raid began shortly before 9 a.m. Tuesday during a shift change at House of Raeford's Columbia Farms plant. Federal prosecutors and immigration agents have been investigating the plant's hiring practices. McDonald says 12 people have been arrested in past months, and seven have pleaded guilty. McDonald says a recent review of 825 workers' immigration paperwork showed false information for more than 775. A woman at the company's Rose Hill, N.C., headquarters had no immediate comment. The raid was in Greenville, about 100 miles southwest of Charlotte, N.C.

An economic slowdown and increased enforcement of immigration laws have resulted in a decline in the number of illegal aliens living in the United States, a study released Thursday shows.

And if I were Obama, the last person I'd be taking 'driving' lessons from would be Teddy.Obama takes big risk on driver's license issue Sen. Barack Obama easily won the African American vote in South Carolina, but to woo California Latinos, where he is running 3-to-1 behind rival Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, he is taking a giant risk: spotlighting his support for the red-hot issue of granting driver's licenses to illegal immigrants.

UALR debate

Last night, UALR college students hosted a debate between democrats and republicans. I was able to ask both sides the following question: We know that illegal aliens can be forced to leave by attrition and enforcement from state and local governments. We have as examples Oklahoma, Arizona, Georgia, and Hazelton, PA. What have you done and what will you do in your elected position to force illegal aliens from the State of Arkansas? I will soon have up video footage of the event where illegal immigration was discussed. KTHV Channel 11 filmed the debate at UALR. The story from their link does not mention illegal immigration:

Barack Obama suggested this weekend that children of illegal immigrants should have an opportunity to attend community colleges. In an interview with WUNC this weekend, the Democratic presidential candidate said children who attend public schools should have the chance to continue to improve themselves. "For us to deny them access to community college, even though they've never lived in Mexico, at least as far as they can tell ... is to deny that this is how we've always built this country up," he said. The campaign of Republican John McCain issued a statement saying he was opposed to providing benefits to illegal immigrants, but did not address community college attendance, which has been a contentious issue in North Carolina. "John McCain does not support amnesty or benefits for undocumented immigrants," his campaign said in the statement. "He has consistently opposed giving amnesty or public benefits to undocumented immigrants."

SPRINGDALE : Aliens tops list of woes at forum

BY RICHARD MASSEY
Posted on Friday, September 19, 2008

SPRINGDALE — The sextet of candidates vying for the mayor’s seat talked Thursday about the city’s problems — illegal immigration, the economy and the future — and how their leadership might be the solution. In the first forum for those seeking the city’s highest post, Alderman Jim Reed, Alderman Mike Overton, former Alderman Ray Dotson, political newcomer Nancy Deason Jenkins, businessman Doug Sprouse and former assistant police chief Ken Watson fielded questions submitted by residents. Hosted by the Washington County Republican Women, the panel also featured Fayetteville’s six mayoral candidates.

The Springdale contingent first discussed the rise of gangs, a development reported on many occasions by the Police Department. Seeing the problem as an outgrowth of the Hispanic community, the candidates said the city needs to work closely with 287 (g ), a program that trains local police authorities to enforce federal immigration laws. Reed said the department needs more officers in the program. (that's a good start!) Springdale has three officers enlisted in 287 (g ). Dotson said he has battled against gang graffiti at his office on East Emma Avenue. In response to the gang signs, he commissioned a mural along the west wall of his building (wouldn't going after illegal immigration be a better idea?). The candidates adamantly agreed the city, like the nation, does not have a handle on the illegal Hispanic population. A study issued last year said just more than 50 percent of the Arkansas Hispanic population is here illegally. Springdale has one of the state’s largest Hispanic populations. Overton urged caution, saying Springdale has no business trying to pass local laws to drive out illegal aliens (Yes it does, and we don't need a person like you in office!). “We have to be careful about enacting an ordinance that will put us in the Supreme Court,” Overton said. Sprouse agreed. (Mayor Barletta of Hazelton removed a large number of illegals despite losing in the courts!) “We have to be wise in how we approach this,” said Sprouse. Watson, a police officer for 20 years, said 287 (g ) is about the only tool the city has to reduce the illegal population. “With the exception of 287 (g ), the federal government won’t let us get involved,” said Watson. (the Hazelton Ordinance has proven otherwise)

The discussion then turned to the economy, and Springdale’s current place at the bottom of the local sales tax race. For the last two years, Springdale has experienced a decline in sales tax revenue while its neighbors to the north, Bentonville and Rogers, have seen a sharp increase. Jenkins said Springdale would benefit if a theme park or a water park located near Arvest Ballpark west of Interstate 540. As mayor, she would work to lure a bigname player like Disney World to come to Northwest Arkansas (won't work if some tourist are killed by illegals!) . Dotson wants to repeal Arkansas Code 26-52-521. Under the law, sales taxes are remitted to the city where goods are delivered, not purchased. Springdale, home to three major building supply stores, receives none of the sales taxes on construction materials delivered to other towns like Rogers and Fayetteville. Even in a time of stagnant sales taxes and uncertainty in the national economy, the candidates agreed Springdale must continue to invest in its police force and infrastructure. A big piece of the puzzle is the exit at Don Tyson Parkway, a $ 20 million project the city will probably have to pay for with local funds. “We have to continue to prepare for businesses that want to come to Springdale,” he said. (Tyson Foods makes millions off of illegal aliens, have them pay for it!)

A link to the Hazelton Ordinance story:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1944968/posts

Based on the statements from this story, it looks like Jim Reed is the best guy to deal with the illegal alien problem in Springdale. If anybody has any more information about these candidates, please let us know.

Questions for Candidates & Healthcare for Illegals

I made this list of questions to ask candidates in the upcoming election. I thought about emailing them but I think it would get a better response if voters called their candidates or asked them in person.

> 1. Will you support a law requiring proof of citizenship in order to obtain state welfare benefits, such as the Secure Arkansas Petition of 2008?

2. Will you support giving local police the authority to enforce immigration laws, such as under the 287G program?

3. Will you deny taxpayer funds to any school, city, or organization that allows illegal aliens or creates a sanctuary for them?

4. Will you support a law requiring proof of citizenship in order to rent an apartment? To go to school? To Vote?

5. Will you demand a company be out of business if caught hiring illegals and fined for each illegal a company hires?

6. Do you believe that an illegal alien based 3rd world exploitation economy is harmful to the United States of America?

7. Do you believe that laws not enforced by the Federal Government must be enforced by the state and local governments?

8. Do you believe that we must help Hispanics by forcing reform in corrupt countries such as Mexico?

9. Do you believe that the illegal immigration system that involves corruption, poverty, human smuggling, ID fraud, tax evasion, negligence is morally justified or Christian?

10. Do you believe in stopping illegal immigration through attrition and enforcement?

College for illegals

This is a mess we will have to deal with since our Attorney General Dusty McDaniel thinks it's up to colleges on whether or not to admit illegals.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2083485/posts

Sacramento, CA (AP) -- A state appeals court has reinstated a lawsuit challenging a policy that allows some illegal immigrants to pay lower in-state tuition to attend California's public colleges and universities.

The 3rd District Court of Appeal in Sacramento said Monday that a lower court erred in dismissing the suit brought by 42 students who paid far more to attend college because they were out-of-state residents.

At issue is a 2002 law that made any California high school graduate who attended at least three years of high school in the state eligible for in-state fee breaks, regardless of immigration status.

AG: Arkansas colleges can admit illegal immigrants

I got this in my email just now! I'd like to remind everyone that 7 years ago, some illegal immigrants with student visas attacked this country!:

First thing, Attorney General McDaniel: what about ILLEGAL don't you understand.

Second thing: It is about the MONEY/benefits that these student illegals get that should be going to deserving American students. Like daycare, WIC, foodstamps, health care, subsidized housing.
Third thing: Our taxes increase and tuition increases to the point that we can't send our own children to college.

LITTLE ROCK - Public colleges and universities in Arkansas can admit illegal immigrants and are not required to verify the citizenship of prospective students, state Attorney General Dustin McDaniel said in an opinion Wednesday.McDaniel said there does not appear to be any federal or state law barring higher education institutions from admitting undocumented immigrants, although he said institutions are free to adopt their own policies requiring verification of prospective students' citizenship.

"It is my opinion in response to your specific questions, that undocumented individuals may enroll in Arkansas' public colleges and universities and that such schools are not obliged to verify citizenship as a condition of enrollment," McDaniel said in the opinion requested by state Rep. Rick Green, R-Van Buren.Federal and state laws leave it up to individual institutions to decide whether to admit undocumented immigrants, McDaniel said.In May, Gov. Mike Beebe directed the state Department of Higher Education to send a letter to state colleges and universities instructing them to add questions of residency and U.S. citizenship on admission forms and to require a Social Security number or visa number.Beebe spokesman Matt DeCample said Wednesday the opinion by McDaniel does not conflict with Beebe's instructions to higher education officials. "Our primary concern all along has been in-state benefits and making sure those are not going to undocumented aliens," DeCample said. "That is not specifically discussed in this opinion."Beebe has said that providing in-state tuition to illegal immigrants but denying it to out-of-state students who are U.S. citizens could violate the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment.DeCample said state colleges and universities were instructed to comply with federal law, "and there is nothing in this opinion that would change that."Department of Higher Education spokesman Dale Ellis said Wednesday the department has never told colleges or universities they could not admit students who have no proof of citizenship."If you give an in-state benefit to a person who is not a citizen or a legal resident of the United States, then that institution has to give that same benefit to any citizen of the United States," Ellis said. "That's what that was about. That was not ever any kind of effort to keep illegal aliens out of school."

Asked if requiring prospective students to provide a Social Security number or visa number has the practical effect of keeping out illegal immigrants, Ellis said it does not. The requirement merely allows schools to determine who is and is not legible for in-state tuition, he said."Nobody's going to get kicked out of school," he said.Ellis said he did not know if any Arkansas schools had opted to admit illegal immigrants at out-of-state tuition rates, but he said the schools "absolutely" are free to do so.Green said Wednesday he had not seen the opinion, but said he had no reason to disagree with McDaniel's interpretation of the law. Green said he believes state-run schools should not admit illegal immigrants, particularly at a time when funds are short for basic needs such as health care and roads, though he said that does not necessarily mean the law should be changed."I hate to think we have to pass a law about everything, to do what I think is the right thing," he said.

Six months after the September 11 attacks, a Florida flight school belatedly received notification from the Immigration and Naturalization Service that two Osama bin Laden disciples--both of whom had enrolled in a professional flight program--had been approved for student visas. The INS notifications were received Monday (3/11) by Rudi Dekkers, owner of Huffman Aviation (Dekkers provided TSG with the below copies of the INS approvals for terrorist ringleader Mohammed Atta and Marwan al-Shehhi). Investigators believe that Atta and al-Shehhi piloted the planes that crashed into the World Trade Center towers. In August 2000, Huffman Aviation filed--on behalf of Atta and al-Shehhi--forms requesting that the INS switch the pair's visa status from tourist to student, a change that allowed Atta and al-Shehhi to enroll in a professional pilot program. While those applications were granted last summer, the formal notification of the approval was not sent until this month. The INS blames a bureaucratic backlog, though others might come to another conclusion. "

Co-founder of Minuteman Project discuss immigration

LITTLE ROCK - A co-founder of the anti-illegal immigration Minuteman Project on Friday accused some American businesses of fostering a "21st century slave trade" by hiring undocumented workers to toil long hours for low wages and few benefits. But Jim Gilchrist also said the nation is under no obligation to help the world's downtrodden masses. In a speech at the Clinton School of Public Service, Gilchrist decried what he said was exploitation of workers to entered the country illegally and questioned their overall benefit to the U.S. economy. "A low-wage pay illegal alien provided no benefits, provided no health care ... not the benefits that most American workers get, this makes them very attractive to those who engage in what I refer to as the 21st century slave trade," he said. On the other hand, Gilchrist asked, "except for life-saving treatment, under what authority are we required to house, shelter, feed, educate and medicate the world's impoverished population?"

"If that's what you want, that's fine, but that's not what I want," he said, adding that money the federal government spends to help illegal immigrants could be better used to improve education for citizens and to help the elderly. Gilchrist, a 59-year-old former newspaper reporter and retired CPA, co-founded the group that has sent hundreds of members to stand along the U.S. southern border in an effort to curb the flow of undocumented workers from Mexico into the country. During his 30-minute speech Friday at the Clinton School, Gilchrist, who has been booed or shouted down at many of his appearance across the country, praised a crowd of about 100 people for allowing him to speak without interruption.

"This far exceeds the rights afforded speakers at Columbia University," he said, referring to a 2006 incident at the New York City school where students stormed the stage and knocked over chairs and tables while he spoke. Before Gilchrist was introduced Friday, Clinton School dean Skip Rutherford asked the audience to be respectful. "People can agree to disagree," Rutherford said. But his appearance did grow testy at times. During a question and answer period, a member of the audience said Arkansas' Hispanic population, including illegal immigrants, had contributed greatly to the state's economy. "You make these people sound like they've come here to be taken care of," the man said.

John DiPippa, interim dean of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock law school, asked Gilchrist that if illegal immigrants were being used as slaves as he suggest, why did he oppose the 2007 a comprehensive immigration reform bill in Congress that would have given temporary amnesty to illegal immigrants in the U.S. The measure was approved in the House but defeated in the Senate. Gilchrist said he couldn't answer the question.

I can answer the question! An amnesty (aka comprehensive immigration reform) would have taken billions of dollars in order to help the "new citizens". Furthermore, the now legal workers would have been laid off and replaced with new illegals. Corrupt regimes like the Mexican Government would continue to neglect their citizens knowing that the American taxpayer will take care of the problem. Worst of all, many criminals and terrorist would be put on the path to citizenship due to an already overburdened immigration system (i.e. 2 of the Fort Dix six who were legal immigrants). How do I know this would happen? Because it is excacly what happened during the 1986 amnesty!

A negligent leader

NEAR MISSION - Police say a suspected illegal immigrant working for a Democratic state representative brutally beat another man to death with a bat Monday morning. Froylen Casares, 24, was working at a ranch owned by state Rep. Kino Flores near the intersection of North Tropser and Yukon Roads when he killed a young Hispanic male whose name authorities have not released, said Hidalgo County Sheriff Lupe Treviño. "It was a very bloody, very bloody, very gruesome crime scene," Treviño said. Authorities continue to search for Casares, of Honduras, who fled the scene before they arrived at about 5:30 a.m. Flores, who has owned the ranch for eight years and uses it to ride his horses, said he hired the man without checking his background because he didn't appear to be an illegal immigrant.

"He was preppy. He looked the part. No indication. He fit in extremely well, he had family members here," the Democrat from Palmview said. "It just looks bad in general ... of course it's going to grab more traction. I certainly don't want to go around challeng-ing people's status."

More here:www.freerepublic.com/focus

According to the Texas Secretary of State website, nobody is running against Kino Flores in his district, which means he should be in power come November. The best we can do is make sure that we don't elect similar officials when we vote!

The kind of leaders we need

This article talks about what one leader did to stop illegal immigration. The term wetback is a word used by a former President of the United States of America. If you don't like the term, take it up with him.

"The rise in illegal border-crossing by Mexican 'wetbacks' to a current rate of more than 1,000,000 cases a year has been accompanied by a curious relaxation in ethical standards extending all the way from the farmer-exploiters of this contraband labor to the highest levels of the Federal Government."- Dwight Eisenhower.

( Little Rock , Arkansas – September 13, 2008) The 2008 election will be a time when we choose people to run the US. Everyone from President to Alderman will have their duties to the people who elect them. Groups such as LULAC, La Raza and The Chamber of Commerce will make an effort to fool voters into electing pro-illegal immigration candidates. These groups along with some in the media have portrayed an image that some industries would cease to exist without millions of uneducated fraudulently documented criminals who could be thieves, rapist, murderers or even terrorist.

The idea that America needs an exploitation system to be successful has been argued before. Many of our Founding Fathers wanted to end slavery when they created this country, but delegates from the South argued that ending slavery would destroy the economy. Early in the 19th century, as the Abolitionist Movement gained strength, pro-slavery politicians used the term "peculiar institution" to describe slavery. They also created The Slave Power a pro-slavery lobby group. The effort to maintain slavery was so successful, that it took the deaths of thousands of Americans in The Civil War to end it.

Then there was practice of Child Labor, which was very popular among mining, agricultural, and oddly enough the newspaper industry. The infamous Joseph Pulitzer and William Randolph Hearst used underpaid homeless boys called “newsies” to sell papers. The media moguls were forced to reform their exploitation system after the Newsboys Strike of 1899. Perhaps this is the reason why the New York Times and other newspapers cheerlead for another exploitation system, illegal immigration. Federal regulation of child labor was achieved in Fair Labor Standards Act in 1938.

In 1954, Dwight Eisenhower began Operation Wetback. Some 750 agents targeted agricultural areas with a goal of 1000 apprehensions of illegal aliens a day. By the end of July, over 50,000 aliens were caught in the two states. Around 488,000 people fled the country for fear of being apprehended. Operation Wetback deported around 80,000 Mexican nationals in the space of almost a year, local INS officials estimated that an additional 500,000-700,000 had fled to Mexico before the campaign began.

Despite the ending of slavery, child labor, and a massive reduction in illegal immigration, America was able to become the greatest agricultural and industrial nation in the world. Today companies like Tyson Foods, Cargill, and Swiftco, are trying to create for themselves an exploitation system that destroys the middle class and creates a culture of corruption similar to that of the Third World. For Arkansas, they fund groups like The AR Farm Bureau. Stanley Reed, President of the AR Farm Bureau recently stated, “If legislation fails to take into account the unique needs of agriculture – which includes our increased dependence on immigrant labor, our vulnerability to competitively priced, foreign-grown produce and our inability to pass along cost increases – we will all watch as Congress literally takes billions of dollars out of the pockets of farmers and sends it to our competitors overseas”. Tyson Foods, one of the companies that is “dependent on immigrant labor”, paid their CEO Richard Bond $1.14 million in salary according to yahoo finance.

Illegal aliens are 4.4% of the U.S. workforce, according to the Dept. of Labor. Legal workers are doing over 95% of the jobs illegals aren’t doing. Illegals are not the “backbone” of the U.S. economy yet, but many want them to be. Fortunately, we have leaders who want to stop illegal immigration like Mayor Lou Barletta of Hazelton, PA. Despite his law that required proof of citizenship to get an apartment being overturned in the Supreme Court, Barletta managed to force out several illegal aliens from Hazelton. Oklahoma recently passed an immigration reform bill that is forcing thousands of illegals to leave despite repeated lawsuits. Georgia has passed similar legislation. In Maricopa County Arizona, Sherrif Joe Arpaio is enforcing the laws that many Federal officials refuse to enforce. This election, we need to help the Eisenhowers, Barlettas and Arpaios who will actually fix the illegal immigration problem.
