Reactions to the Truth and Illegal Immigration crime in Arkansas

Sorry for the delay in post. I've been both ill and having to catch up on loss work from when I attended the Immigration Study. Since everyone knows about the study done, I decided to post the response from our new Democrat Governor.

Beebe: Report On Illegal Immigration Costs Incomplete (It's better than any study he's done!)

Governor Beebe says the state needs more accurate information on how much its agencies are paying for services for illegal immigrants if there is to be an informed discussion on immigration policy. Beebe says a report released to legislators Monday did not break down the costs of services by an immigrant's legal status. (That's because most of the departments are not allowed to ask about legal status) The governor says lumping legal and illegal immigrants together doesn't give the complete picture on the cost of illegal immigrants to the state. He calls the discussion among state legislators about immigration policy healthy but says the state has to work with (do nothing with) the federal government on these issues. Beebe spoke to news reporters after a speech in Little Rock to a labor group.
