Jihad Camps and Stimulus

I saw this on freerepublic.com. I was suprised to see that several of these "Jihad Camps" were in the Bible Belt. I don't know if any are in Arkansas:

For several months now I have been documenting the comparisons between the UK and the USA in regards to Islam and Muslim immigration. Now another disturbing comparison has come to light. That both of our countries have numerous Islamic training camps set up right under our noses. All while our governments are too politically correct to take action. The Islamic training camps here in America were exposed by The Christian Action Network. Here is what they have uncovered.

Arkansas's share of the Porkulus. Notice that there's no decrease in our gasoline tax despite millions going to our roads. Many of the programs that get funding from the Porkulus are programs that aid illegal aliens in Arkansas and will continue to do so until the we require proof of citizenship to get those benefits.

LITTLE ROCK -- Arkansas will receive about $2.1 billion from the federal stimulus package that just passed Congress, federal figures show.About $358 million will go for highways and will probably go into multiple projects all around the state rather than into any one big project, state Highway and Transportation Department director Dan Flowers said in an interview. Which projects will benefit is a decision that will be made by the state Highway Commission, he said.

Another story about the Porkulus Bill:

According to the CBO, the stimulus bill will actually hurt the economy in the long run. However, there is the possibility it will stimulate illegal immigration. In addition to providing up to 300 thousand construction jobs for illegal aliens, the bill will bail out irresponsible states like California. This will allow them to avoid dealing with one of the primary reasons they have a budget deficit. That reason is the extensive and expensive social net they have extended to illegal immigrants. When you couple this stimulus bill with the collapsing state of the Mexican economy and government, we could see a tidal wave of new migrants heading across the border by the end of this year. more here...

There is a bill written by Jim Nickels that would allow the contractors licensing board to punish contractors that knowingly hire illegals HB1383. While so far this appears to be a good bill, it doesn't require businesses to use any verification system. When Petit Jean Poultry was raided by ICE and caught hiring over hundred illegals (including a 14 year old girl), they simply denied knowing the workers were illegal. A larger immigration reform bill that will include requiring businesses to verify their workers will be needed. We hope that Rep Nickels and other sponsors of HB1383 will support immigration reform legislation that takes away the "we didn't know excuse" from corrupt businesses.

Legislative Update 020209

While bills that deal with illegal immigration are on hold for the moment, there are some other bills that effect illegal immigration. This was fowarded from Secure Arkansas.

We must act immediately - this bill could be voted on as early as Wednesday, February 4th. DO NOT BE FOOLED - Governor Beebe speaks about this cigarette tax funding a Trauma Center, but this money will go directly in to the General Fund and is not designed for a Trauma Center. The governor has also spoken about funding 20 other "Health Related" programs....and we already know that ILLEGALS have access to all health benefits. Direct excerpt from the bill:(d) The revenue derived from the additional tax imposed by this section shall be credited to the General Revenue Fund Account of the State Apportionment Fund, there to be distributed with the other gross general revenue collections for that month in accordance with the Revenue Stabilization Law, § 19-5-201 et seq.
www.arkleg.state.ar.us/assembly/2009/R/Bills/HB1204.pdf
The Trauma Center is just an extension of Emergency Rooms which Illegal aliens now use for all their health care problems. First let me say that this is not a partisan call to action, it just happens that the Republicans can stop this bill if they stand together. The 300 Million dollar surplus means we have been taxed too much. We are aware that Governor Beebe is trying to buy all legislators' votes with the promise of pork money for their districts - which is unethical. In addition to Beebe's tax proposal, there is another 61-cent tax on a pack of cigarettes from the federal government. A 100 million dollar tax will affect the money of everyday Arkansans, not to mention expand government. Remember the Republicans are supposed to be the party of small government......It does not matter if you approve of smoking or not, this is another assault on your personal liberty, will you be next? ACTION NEEDED:

A story about another bill.
Random drug testing of DHS clients proposed
By Rob Moritz Arkansas News Bureau
http://arkansasnews.com/?p=23803
LITTLE ROCK — Recipients of public assistance through the state Department of Human Services would be required to undergo random drug testing under a bill filed Friday.
Rep. Davy Carter, R-Cabot, said the goal of his House Bill 1281 is not to punish anyone or take away benefits from those deserving. “We know this is controversial,” Carter said. “Are we going to throw people in jail and cut off their kids’ health care services? No. Do we give the person another chance? Maybe. This will be all part of the debate.” The measure is a shell bill, meaning details will be added later. Carter said he plans to meet with DHS officials and representatives from other groups, including the Arkansas chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union, before proposing amendments. “We want to make sure everyone is on the same page,” he said. “I understand that there are some civil liberties we are going to address, that’s why I want everyone at the table talking. Unfortunately, filing this (bill) is what is necessary before we have a debate.”

With unemployment up and people struggling, “we want people to help people that can help themselves,” Carter said. “When teachers can’t pay their health insurance and the state is struggling to pay for Arkids First, when in Lonoke County we have a real meth problem, I think the taxpayer deserves to know what’s going on there.” The freshman lawmaker said he does not personally know anyone who uses illegal drugs and receives state benefits, but he said law enforcement officers have told him that it is not uncommon. Co-sponsors of the bill are fellow freshmen Reps. John Burris, R-Harrison, and Jonathan Dismang, R-Searcy. Julie Munsell, spokeswoman for DHS, said the state currently does not require drug testing. Some clients in the Transitional Employement Assistance Program, however, may received drug testing if they are in a federally funded drug treatment program.
